Welcome to my Blog.

This is my first attempt at keeping one, my reasons for keeping this Blog are as follows

1. To clearly see my progress in my training as I will be keeping up to date records.

2. To help others with their own training by recording my exercises and goals and giving tips and ideas.

3. To help me reach my own goals, because if I put my goals for all to see then I have to achieve them.

4. I enjoy adding stuff to this site.

Goals:

I am writing this two days after my last competition.  As a team, we came home with a silver medal, which was great but my performance in the individual rounds could have been better. Having a little more mat time than my last competition I came away learning a great deal, learning about myself and other fighters.

So this experience has lead me to a long term goal, the thing with achieving goals is to break them down into smaller goals and reach these one at a time.

My long term goal is to win an individual gold medal in any karate event.

To achieve this I have set myself smaller targets to reach.

1. Lose at least half a stone, at present I weigh 16 stone and want to reach 15 1/2 stone.

2. Improve my fitness

3. Enter competitions on a regular basis

I will try to update this Blog on a daily or weekly basis until my goals have been reached.

Went for my last run before going to France for our annual training trip, done my 3.5 mile route and got a personal best click Here to see my time. So this blog will not be updated all week as I am away, I will give you all a full update on the France trip when I get back. See ya

Running today, felt great and really pushed myself. thought I would have beat my best time of 38.13, but was nowhere near. I managed 41.03 my best time in a long time and I really can't remember pushing myself harder on this run. So I am starting to think I set the 38.13 on the treadmill in the gym, as it is easier than being out on the road. I will try next time I do this run to get nearer the 38.13 and if I don't get close then I am right about the treadmill.

Thursday 27th September 2007

Didn't feel up to much today as I had a late night playing halo 3. Got to the gym warmed up on the bike 10 minutes, jumped on the treadmill and done a hill programme for 15 minutes and then warmed down on the bike again for 10 minutes. Finished with 50 reps of wide arm chins.

Wednesday 26th September 2007

Went down to the track today only to find it closed, they are resurfacing. So instead I trained on the five a side pitch, ran laps as warm up and went into all my Kata ran through them twice each. I finished by working Kicks the five basics front, round, hook, side and back.

This evening was circuit training love doing this class at the moment, its a really quick way of having a good workout.

Tuesday 25th September 2007

Took the bike to the gym today, it's a great warm up at around six miles. trained chest and biceps and then cycled home.

Joined in for some kata at karate and also had a good warm up, although couldn't do a whole session as I was teaching I still managed to get a bit sweaty.

Monday 24th September 2007

Karate this evening, I took the class so good only join in so much. Ran through Kata and then put the pads on for sparring. Gave the class some solid basics and then joined in with a good stretch.
