On this page we give you some of the technical information about Karate, like English to Japanese translation for blocks, kicks etc. club membership and equipment forms.

The club name ROKAKAI is made up of three parts:

1) ROK - represents ROcK, meaning solid and reliable.

2) KA - represents KArate, which is the sport in which we train (Kara - te means empty - hand).

3) KAI - means club or society in Japanese.

Your Karate licence cost £20.00 per year. Gradings cost £20.00 which includes a certificate and a belt if you pass. Remember you must have a license and proper clothing (a gi) to pass any grading beyond your first belt!
